Imagine landing in Lapland in the morning, meeting Father Christmas in person by lunchtime, and being back home in the UK by evening. That's Let it Snow!: a single day trip that takes your family from the UK to Santa's own doorstep in Swedish Lapland and back again, no overnight stay required.
The excitement starts long before you take off, and it doesn't let up. Once you land in Pajala, you'll be met by your hosts and taken by coach to Santa's village, where you'll change into warm thermal suits and boots ready for the day ahead. From here, a full programme of activities awaits: husky sled rides through the forest, a snowmobile experience across the frozen ground (driven by our experienced guides, with children riding safely alongside), and a traditional reindeer-drawn sleigh gliding through the trees. There's time for snowball fights and building snowmen too, before a hearty hot lunch to keep everyone going.
Then comes the moment you've really travelled for: a private meeting with Father Christmas himself, in his own log cabin, deep in the forest. Bring your letter, tell him what's on your list, and enjoy the kind of moment that stays with a family for years, all in a single, unforgettable day.
If one day in Lapland leaves you wanting more, our Santa short breaks, Dashing Through the Snow, Santa's on His Way, Sleigh Bells Ringing, Snow Is Falling and Wonderful Christmas Time, let you extend the magic over two, three or four nights, staying in traditional Lapland accommodation rather than flying home the same evening. And if the dates for Let it Snow don't work for your family, our other Santa day trip, Winter Wonderland, flies direct to Enontekio in Finnish Lapland and offers a very similar programme of adventure and Santa magic, so you're likely to find a date that suits.
What to expect
Our Let it Snow! day trips run throughout December until Christmas Eve, flying direct to Pajala in Swedish Lapland from regional airports across the UK. Yours will be the only flight into Pajala that day, so you won't be sharing the experience with crowds of other visitors, just your own group, making the most of an authentic, uncommercial corner of Lapland.
Once you land, thermal suits and boots are provided to keep you warm in temperatures that can drop to around -30°C, and you'll head straight out to enjoy the day's activities: husky sledding, snowmobiling and a reindeer sleigh ride, all set against frozen rivers and snow-laden forests.
A hot lunch is included to keep everyone's energy up, along with inflight meals on both flights, usually breakfast on the way out and dinner on the way home. And, of course, no visit would be complete without your private meeting with Father Christmas, tucked away at the end of a quiet forest path, waiting to greet your family in person.
Enjoy these exhilarating wintry activities combined with snow play and the magical atmosphere of the Christmas season in the heart of True Lapland – far away from busy commercial resorts.
We've got your journey covered! Return flights, transfers and baggage allowance are all included for a smooth and hassle-free trip. With convenient departures from regional airports across the UK, we make Lapland easily accessible to all.
